What You Didn’t Steal From Me

A short film, self-shot on a smartphone in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

What You Didn’t Steal from Me is a tender snapshot of the director’s struggle with self-acceptance. Through rope bondage, they are rediscovering their sexuality after trauma and finding a home in their fat, disabled and brown body.

Created as part of a IBPOC erotic filmmaking workshop held by Toronto Queer Film Festival during summer 2020, funded by the Ontario Arts Council. Special thanks to Devochka, founder of TENSION: School of Self-Suspension Art, and filmmakers Theo Jean Cuthand and Fallon Simard for facilitating this journey.
